El Greco in Garmisch-Partenkirchen

Today the two of us were casual customers at El Greco. We were assigned a table in the central area of ​​the restaurant. The table was right at the entrance to the room and the aisle was very narrow, so that the waiters had to position the plates over my head every time I walked by in order to get into the narrow aisle. I was extremely uncomfortable and asked the landlord to change tables. There were several free tables. In addition, guests who arrived after us were assigned tables in the better corners of the restaurant. The host reacted very aggressively to my request. I was told there was no other table for us, he decides who gets which table and if something does not suit me, I should pay and leave. At this point our food has already been served. We decided to stay at the table. While we were eating, the waitress said as we walked by, we should finish eating faster and go home, otherwise “the bad virus is there”. After we finished eating we wanted to pay and asked for a receipt. The landlord freaked out immediately, said that he would only bring us the receipt after payment, that he did not want to discuss it and threatened to call the police. After a long discussion, we got a receipt, paid and left. The host behaved in an absolutely unacceptable manner. We have never seen such rude and aggressive service before. We were very disappointed. I advise anyone who values ​​polite service from El Greco.

At the entrance we were greeted very annoyed by the boss as we hadn't reserved a table. But none of the other guests got bread from us. The food was also unfortunately very salty and I thought if you ordered a platter with scampi and calamari that there would be at least more than 1 (!!) scampi and 2 small calamari on the plate. Not even tzatziki on your plate first. As a guest we were only asked if we were finished and not only if we were satisfied. We like to go to the Greek for dinner, but he has a lot to learn in terms of hospitality. So I'm curious whether the boss will take the time to comment. We always tip. But expect friendliness for it. Not here!!

Giros was so dry that my daughter had to leave it. Fillet skewer was ok. French fries ? soup from menu card for me did not give out. Metaxa sauce was more cheese and cream than anything else? All guests at the table next door got ouzo, but not us. ? for daughter was only at the next table. A pity.....

Not suitable for vegetarians. Starters were good. Then we both ordered vegetables with mushroom sauce. But we were brought a dish with Metaxa sauce. The waiter was pointed out very rude and shouted "that you ordered !! 76 !!!" Sorry that doesn't work at all. He then brought the right thing a little later without comment. Unfortunately everything just tk vegetables and cheese on top. We are very disappointed with such rude treatment. Not recommendable

The restaurant was lovingly furnished. Even without a reservation, we were given a table. Particular attention was paid to compliance with the corona regulations, also when allocating tables, which is very commendable. The order was received in a friendly manner and served quickly despite the large number of guests. The price is totally okay for a Greek restaurant. Absolute recommendation :)

Authentic Greek! Juicy, delicious, fresh and reasonably priced. Very generous with portions. Greek music playing in the background, sitting on the terrace while having our meal, and the perfect warm weather, felt like we were in Greece! ;)

Very unfriendly service was kicked out because there was no table available, I was told I can stay for an hour. After eating and drinking something I was told I had to go. 0.5 hours not an hour. I wanted to have another drink that was refused. I will never recommend or visit this place again. The Saganaki was carelessly prepared and small.

Food is of good quality. Portions are normal, prices are good in proportion. Staff a little curt, and the different courses are placed on the table without asking, even though you are still busy with your other course. This gives a rushed feeling, which is of course a shame for a good restaurant like this.

Cozy atmosphere and tasty food — what a perfect way to spend an evening. Portions are very fulfilling, grilled fish came with a sizable amount of veggies besides side potatoes and rice. We had a table for two, but this establishment can accommodate way bigger groups, though you must consider booking a table in such a case. There is an English menu, if you need it.

The patio is enchantingly cosy and idyllic, especially in summer. Prices are good, considering the large amounts you get. Staff is kind, though a little bit rushed. And I liked that the appetizer was Sambucca, not Ouzo or anything of the sort :)

Very impressive Greek food, which is not very common in Germany. We had a few items including a Greek salad, fried peppers and souvlaki, all of which where excellent and portions are just right. The outside area is quite large which is great as you can avoid being near smokers and the service was fast and friendly.

This is my go to Greek place when I visit the area. Staff very friendly and helpful. Food is excellent! Plenty of space inside the dining room, and a very nice terrace dining area (in season).
